On Friday, we received a call to move up the transplant date to June 10th. This meant that Teddy and I checked into the children’s hospital yesterday. The sooner the transplant happens, the better his odds will be.
I know many of you are concerned that this process isn’t moving fast enough, but we have only known about his disorder for 19 days. From diagnosis to transplant, it will be 32 days, which is considered lightning speed in the BMT world. Normally, it takes six to eight months to arrange a bone marrow transplant. This expedited timeline would not have been possible without the incredible team at the children’s hospital and God’s grace.
